PRE FREESKATE & FREESKATE 1-6
The Free Skate levels are designed to give skaters a strong foundation on which to build their skills. This is the point where the skater can choose whether to pursue a recreational or competitive approach to the sport of figure skating.
PRE FREESKATE
Testing Elements:
- Backward crossovers, hold a backward outside landing position (left and right)
- Mohawk combination (left and right)
- Forward power stroking with good knee bend
- Forward pivot from a hockey glide
- Forward attitude

- Waltz jump
- 1/2 flip

FREESKATE 2
Testing Elements:
- One ft. spin
- Forward change of edge (outside and inside)
- 1/2 lutz
- Ballet jump
- Waltz 8 on a 1/2 circle
FREESKATE 3
Testing Elements:
- 5 step mohawk from MITF
- Salchow
- Toe loop
- Scratch spin
- Beginning backward spin in H position
- Forward outside spiral (left and right)
FREESKATE 4
Testing Elements:
- Alternating backward crossovers to backward outside edges (left and right)
- Backward outside 3 turn on a circle (left and right)
- Backward inside 3 turn on a circle (left and right)
- Loop jump
- Flip jump
- Sit spin
FREESKATE 5
Testing Elements:
- Forward power 3 turns (4 each side)
- Alternating mohawk crossover sequence
- Backward scratch
- Lutz jump
- Camel spin
- Camel/sit combo spin
FREESKATE 6
Testing Elements:
- Beginning forward 1 ft. power pulls
- Forward scratch to backward scratch spin
- Axel jump
- Layback spin
- Split jump
- Forward double 3's on a circle
